On the last day of my stay at my friend's house, I made some delicious Peach Float dessert for my buddies :) I hope they enjoy it! Alas, I overstayed a bit and when I reached KL Central, I missed the night's last bus to LCCT! Mwahaha, thank you for my patience! :)

My Reward? A Macbook!
Most of the time, satisfaction after doing artworks is a reward just by itself. Every month or two, I would go out and get myself some new duds. Jeans, t-shirts and maybe a video game or two (well, maybe more than two :P).
So it's been almost a whole year that I've thrown myself out in the wild jungle of freelancing. What would you, reward yourself after a long period of working? For me, an Aluminum Macbook!
So, have you given yourself a reward for this year? :D

HobbyCon 2008
HobbyCon is happening again this year! I went to the convention last year and I was impressed at what the commitee members have managed to make. This will be so much fun to attend like last year :)
I hope to have a table so I can sell my stuff. I just have to figure out what, haha!

Anti Coal Plant T-Shirts
So, this is my contribution for Sandakan's Anti Coal Power Plant Campaign! This is a t-shirt design with three variations of the text; Malay, English and Chinese.
I have no idea if Google Translator is reliable when translating English to Chinese :O So is it actually safe to send the Chinese version to print? O_O;; Wouldn't want the Chinese text to say bad things about great ancestors or something *_*

Sabah Coal Plant Issue
Recently here in Sandakan, there's been a ruckus about how the Coal Plant Project is being brought here from Lahad Datu. The people over there rejected the idea so now they're bringing it here?
What, are our lives less important that they'd bring the dirtiest power source to us?
I don't care how "clean" they say it is, in the long run, it'll still be BAD. Sure we use diesel everyday. Doesn't mean we want more junk up in our insides.
The New Straights Time Online has an article about this.
The Sandakan Chinese Chambers of Commerce are now having talks to find ways to get rid of this horrible horrible coal plant. My dad is joining in the cause! I'm gonna try to do something to.
So like, if you're affiliated with any NGO people, tell them to fight for this cause~ Cheesy
Coal is not cool!

Wacom's Graphire 4 Rubber Grip Problems - Part 2
I've recently been e-mailing back and forth with a representative from Wacom. He stressed that the rubber grips are NOT under warranty. Ok, I don't mind buying a replacement rubber pen. A friend told me though that there is no way to replace it because:
1. Wacom doesn't sell replacement rubber grips for Graphire4 pens. This is true cause I checked their site and didn't see any selling.
2. New rubber grips can't be put into the old pen. Kinda true, I tried sliding the rubber grip and it got stuck at the end, I could still take it out though because my rubber grip was already loose and torn.
So the only way is to buy a new pen :O LUCKILY out of good-will, Wacom Singapore (I bought the tablet online) will send me another pen which doesn't come with the rubber grip :) I'll have to send my pen to them first. My Graphire1 pen is still around (and still working!) so I can still do work.
I think this is such an inconvenience to consumers :( I think Wacom is phasing out the Graphire series though. The Bamboo series works the same BUT the pens doesn't have the rubber grip :D
I still think Wacom is the best graphics tablet out there, so it's still good to buy them :) Just stay away from the Graphire series. also remember if you have this problem, e-mail the Wacom branch you bought from, and tell them about your rubber grip problem. Good luck! :D

Okami, Amaterasu Flash
I dunno what made me do a flash entry for Deviant Art's Okami 2008 contest. But I felt compelled to do it O_o
Inspired by how flowers bloom every time Ammy runs around.
Maybe cause I needed something to update. It was pretty fun to do. I kept it simple and short cause the contest is ending in like 3 days and I only read about it today. I'm happy with it :) I'm pretty sure I could've done Amaterasu a lot more justice. Hmm, coulda, shoulda, woulda. Ah, well at least I finished it in time to send to the contest :D

Wacom's Graphire 4 Rubber Grip Problems
Okay, last year I had to buy a new Wacom graphics tablet because mine had already died after years and years of servitude. So I got a Graphire 4. It's AMAZING, everything works perfectly.
That is until a few months ago. See the Graphire pen has this rubber grip. It's really a good thing cause it makes the pens easier to hold. Problem with them is, they start to "melt" and tear. Yep, mine looks like it was nuked in the oven for a couple of minutes. It also tears pretty easily.
Now how such a great and big company like Wacom makes such a big boo boo, I dunno. I've scoured the internet looking for a replacement pen but alas, only Intuos pens have them ad they certainly won't fit a Graphire 4 pen. So I emailed Grandtech, Wacom distributor for Malaysia.
"Sorry, Wacom does not sell replacement rubber grip for any of the Wacom pens. You would have to purchase a whole new Grip Pen."
That's it. One measly line! I've got a perfectly working pen (albeit, one that doesn't look good cause of the rubber grip) and they want me to buy a new pen? So what am I gonna do with the one that I already have, chuck it into the trash can? Tsk tsk, I hope Wacom does something about this. I'm not the only one with this problem so obviously this is a manufacturing fault.
If anyone has any problems with the rubber grips, I suggest you all email Wacom about it so they open their eyes and do something about this yucky problem!

There's No Free in Freelancer
"But you've got all the free time in the world!"
A friend of mine said that to me a year ago. Now at that time, I did agree with him. If he said that to me now, I would've punched him in the face!
A year ago, I quit my job because I thought I was working way too many hours and I was literally becoming a zombie. See I have dreams. Dreams of making it big. Doing my own movie. Get my own merchandise line. Be my own boss. So after having enough of living like a lifeless corpse, I said goodbye to my former employers with a happy grin and went my merry way, back to my home town.
For 6 months, I didn't do ANYthing at all. Now that I had all this freedom, I didn't know what to do with it! Where had all my enthusiasm gone? What happened to all my ideas and plans for world domination? That betch, Procrastination had her claws all over me.
Luckily, I overcame that weakness. Now I have this little freelance business and BOY was I way off the mark with working hours. I have to do everything myself! From advertising, cleaning the office/room (OK, I confess, I have someone to help me do that HAHA), talk to clients, keep the site updated, etc. I think I worked more hours than when I had a 9 to 5 job.
Everything is going ok now. I will be making my business a little bit bigger soon. And guess what, that means more hours of planning, making it work and executing the plan. Y'know what though? I wouldn't want to trade any of this if it means I'm living my dreams :)
With that I'll leave you with a portrait of Randy Pausch and a link about managing time in freelancing.
Randy Pausch, is a great man. His "Last Lecture" made
me think how I should be living my life. To the fullest :)

Some of you might know that I've been trying to finish my Kingdom Hearts II: Tribute to Friends flash animation. Unfortunately, a big chunk of my time is taken by other things (so I can put food on the table haha).
I really HAVE TO finish it though! Most of the user interface has been finished. It's the movie animations that aren't done yet. I need your help!
Want to be a part of something special?
Wanna see your name when the movie credits roll?
Wanting to give back to the (Kingdom Hearts) community?
If it's all yes, then please send in your applications to hadibi@yahoo.com!
If you answered no...uhm, well just send an email anyway! ^.^
PS - Applicants must be able to draw & animate in Flash :O

(Not Freaky) 3D Head Model
I DID IT! And I figured out how to render the head. No wonder the texture on the last pic looks so pixelated hahaha! Took sometime to get all the eyes, ears, mouth, eyebrow, etc. placements almost exatly where they're supposed to be. It looks so nice haha!
I now know how freakin hard it is to make 3d...I've skimped a lot and used as little polygons (is that the correct term?) as I could. I can't Imagine the ones that require hundreds and thousands!!

(Freaky) 3D Head Model...
I've been wanting to learn 3D for so long. I was stuck at home the other day and started cracking my knuckles and reading some books on making 3D stuff. I decicded I wanted a head!
I was gonna make a model of my Gem Hunter guy but I did something wrong and saved over some files blah blah and all I got is a bald head :P Which isn't that bad really but I think I lost a few hours of work ;_;
And YES it IS a freaky head! I still don't know how to do this mapping thing...FREAK!
